Dust to Dust….

This week we thought we would highlight a different subject. The job or chore you love to hate, vacuuming carpets.

Firstly we need to discuss what actually gathers in carpet fibres over time. It can only be described as a smorgasbord of gruesome delights including: Dust mites, human skin, bacteria, particle pollution, lead, pesticides and pet dander. Even the most expensive vacuum cleaners can not reach down far enough into the fibres to extract all of this unpleasantness.

As a demonstration we’ve treated a carpet to a CCC standard vacuuming by way of showing just what can be extracted.

Firstly we use a specific machine that lifts and separates the fibres which pulls hair dust and grit to the surface.

Secondly we do a thorough vacuum in a cross hatch pattern to ensure all traces of airborne dust, hair and grit are fully removed. This leaves the carpet fibres reset to aid further cleaning and vacuuming in the future.

As you can see from the photos a huge amount of debris is lifted from the carpet, far more than a regular once over vacuum with a standard domestic vacuum cleaner. Startling isn’t it?
